Mission Statement
Why “Monopoly GO-Week”?
College is like a board game. You may take a chance with a new class, depend on the community chest around you, or walk around from building to building looking for your classroom. At Monopoly GO-Week, we hope you embark on your own board game journey, full of laughter, memories, and love, as you call Baker your second home.
Throughout the week, you will bond with all the wonderful tokens in the Baker Community – including current Bakerites, our A-Team, and your fellow new students! Much like a Monopoly board, complete with the numerous properties, chance cards and unexpected detours, life at Rice is a collection of diverse opportunities brought to life by your own, special experiences. And though days at college are like a random roll of a dice, Baker, like the ever-dependable GO square, will always be here for you day and night, through thick and thin!
On Baker’s Monopoly board, though, it isn’t about building as many houses or hotels as possible. It isn’t about being crowned the day’s winner. Monopoly GO-week is about the journey around the board, about all the wonderful people you meet playing the same game as you, and most importantly, about the memories you treasure for years to come.
So grab your top hats, twirl your mustache, and get ready to play the boardgame of your lifetime: Monopoly GO-Week!
